How Canada's Restoration Services Can help

At the first signs of mold, you need to take the proper precautions to ensure that not only the health of those living in the property is jeopordized, but the structure of the home is not affected as well. Some molds are okay for you to clean yourself, but it is best to consult with a mold professional first before attempting to clean.

After giving us a call, our staff will ask a series of questions to identify the severity of the situation. If required, a Free Mold Inspection can be arranged where a certified mold project manager will attend your property and investigate the situation. One of the most important things is to identify the source of the mold. It could be as simply as lack of airflow or it could be related to something bigger such as a water leak.

Once we have identified the above, we can properly plan out a scope of work to clean and get rid of all the mold and help to prevent it from coming back.

We ensure that all work performed follows the industry guidelines set forth by the IICRC, Institute of  Inspection Cleaning and Restoration, and a certificate of mold removal is provided at the end of each project. We stand behind our work and warrant what we do. We live strong through our motto:

Where To Look For Mold In Your Home

Mold can grow in any crease and crevice of your home. It likes cold, dark, moist area's where it can live and thrive and continue to grow. Mold needs three things to grow:

  1. A Place to Grow - Organic Material (such as drywall, wood, and furniture)
  2. Water - Like a living matter, water is a must
  3. Lack of Airflow

If mold is given these three things - it can grow anywhere and you need to be on the look out for it.

Common places to find mold in your home are:

  • Bedroom and Hallway Closets
  • Bathroom Tiles and Grout
  • On Drywall in behind Furniture
  • In Cold Rooms and Cold Storages
  • Along Baseboards throughout the home
  • Under Kitchen and Bathroom Sinks
  • In Window Sills and Ledges
  • Up in the Attic Space

Surface mold is very common in many of these area's and usually has a "fuzzy" look to it. Many times this mold is safe to clean up on your own, however as mentioned, consult with us first to ensure. Often times by sending in a simple photo, we can determine if it is safe for you to clean.

If you notice the mold is very black in colour and growing up the walls or ceilings - this can be related to a bigger issue. An inspection will need to be arranged to identify the severity and the source of the mold growth.

Mold's To Be On The Look Out For:

Our Mold Remediation Process

We follow all industry guidelines when it comes to mold removal and mold remediation. Once mold spores are disturbed, they become elevated and can be transported to other area's of the home; this is why it is extremely important that the proper steps are taken when cleaning and removing. Our Six Step Mold Remediation Process consists of:

  1. First containments will be set up around the entire area that is affected with mold growth.
  2. With the containments, negative air and air scrubbers are set up to perform multiple air exchanges and purify the "bad" air.
  3. Next, all mold affected materials are removed and disinfected. All these materials are bagged and disposed of in certified heavy duty bags.
  4. A hepa vacuum and anti-microbial wipe down is completed in the entire area to rid of any access mold spores.
  5. Equipment and containment remain up for 24-48 hours depending on the extent of the mold.
  6. After the 24-48 hours, another wipe down is completed with a final fogging of the area, and containments and equipment are taken down.

By following these 6 Steps, we can ensure that your home is brought back to a healthy environment and will prevent and cross-contamination of mold spores.

All our mold remediation projects are guaranteed and a certificate of completion is provided on all mold remediation projects.
